1. Marine Drive
Marine Drive boasts of a promenade that stretches from Nariman Point to Malabar Hill and the entire stretch when lit up with bulbs resembles a necklace. This visual gives the place its famous tag of “Queen’s Necklace”. Fitness freaks should definitely go for a run on the breezy promenade and if you don’t like to tread the path, simply go for a tonga ride to Marine Drive that is quite a delight.
2. JUHU BEACH
Juhu Beach, a favourite with all who come to Mumbai. Cool breeze, bhelpuri, sweet corn, and the delicious kala khatta, you name it and its all sold here. A visit to this prominent spot is a must.
3. Haji Ali Dargaah
The Shrine was built in the year 1431. Located in the heart of Worli, Haji Ali Shrine reflects the Indian Muslim architecture. The 85 feet tall structure is located in 4500 meters area of land. The Shrine is constructed with marble that matches the marbles used in the construction of Taj Mahal. The pillars of the Shrine are artistic and the mirror work in the monument is stunning. The stupendous architecture of the Haji Ali Shrine attracts people of various religions and beliefs.
4. Gateway of India
The 85 feet tall structure was built to commemorate King George, the Fifth’s visit to Mumbai. Incidentally, the last of British soldiers that were to leave India after independence, departed through Gateway of India. The monument’s architecture is a prefect blend of three styles, namely Hindu, Islam and European Gothic styles. You could take ferry from here to visit Elephanta Caves.
5. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus
This was earlier known as Victoria Terminus. The construction was completed in the year 1897. UNESCO has declared the terminus as World Heritage Site in the year 2004. The building is a representation of architecture of various cultures including traditional Indian, Victorian and Gothic. Though it is a terminus to board and get off trains, you cannot help marveling at the stunning architecture of the building. Whether you intend to take a train or not, this is a must visit site in Mumbai.
6. BORIVALI NATIONAL PARK
A natural respite within the concretized reality of Mumbai. Located in suburban Mumbai, Borivali National park is full of greenery and is a popular picnic spot. Best time to visit is at dawn.
7. FILM CITY
Constructed in 1978, Film City is a must visit. A sneak peak into the makings of cinema is an experience in itself. Ideal time to go is obviously when a shoot is on. If you are a Bollywood fan, you can also pay homage to Yash Raj Studios in Andheri.
8. Siddhivinayak Temple
A Hindu temple dedicated to the Lord Shri Ganesh is a standing testament of beauty and architecture. Constructed in 1801, the temple entertains thousands of devotees every single day. Even Bollywood celebrities, as well as other prominent figures, climb up to the temple to seek blessings and offer prayers to Lord Ganesha that is its magnetism. 9. Essel World

Known for its great boarding schools, Panchgani is an ideal vacation spot. Famous for horse riding, this place always has beautiful weather. Good spot to buy leather shoes from shops hidden in alleys. Aamir Khan has a bungalow in Old Panchgani that is given on rent for film shoots.
